At the 8:00 Mass this morning, Spencer Daniel Harpenau was baptised. His sister Abigail, hearing no cry as Father poured the water over Spencer, said “He was brave.” All nine pounds of him.
Minutes later his big sister Kennedie received the Holy Eucharist for the first time. In our photo, Gloria Biesen puts herself on eye level with Kennedie, a sweet moment of ministry.
And what a sweet Father’s Day this must be for dad Frank Harpenau (Heather) and grandpa Lloyd Turner (Lori). Let us pray in thanks for this warm, loving, boisterous clan in our midst, and for all grace and blessings to be upon them.
Let us also pray in celebration for Marie Yost (Art) because tomorrow is her 90th birthday. I wonder what she’ll bake for the occasion.
Father’s homily on the Holy Trinity began with triangles, the simplest but strongest shapes. One triangle is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Another triangle for today, perhaps, is the Lord, his grace and happiness shared with an infant and a girl, and his favor poured on a woman so long faithful.
Thanks Jospeh for sharing in our day! We have been so blessed with such a wonderful church family. Later in the afternoon we surpirsed my dad as this year marks 20 years sobriety for him as well as his 50th birthday. During that celebration the Voss’s joined us only again showing how rich our church community is!
