Our new parish hall seems like a winning runner, leaning forward into the tape. The main floor, at least, seems to be racing to its conclusion. Yet, everywhere, there also are looks to our roots.
In many corners there are links to the past. For example, the cornerstones of our past buildings are secure in the northwest corner of the hall.
The columns along the south side are fitted with the artful grilles that once adorned St. Thomas More School. It is delightful how our architects and design team have woven our past into our future.
The restrooms are nearly complete, and a bit luxurious. They will seem grand, at first.
I hope we will be like a family, moving tentatively into a new house, feeling our way, deciding together how to use this new resource. I hope we will use it to serve each other and our community. I hope we will use it to educate and also to learn from each other. So much potential and so much hope!
